Eighteen months ago, I felt completely lost — out of alignment with myself and unsure what direction life was taking me. A few months earlier, I’d experienced a miscarriage that shook me to my core. It was one of those moments that changes everything. I knew something had to shift dramatically, but I didn’t yet know what.
In truth, my connection with energy work had begun years before. Reflexology first opened my eyes to how energy moves through the body, and that awareness led me to explore deeper. I met a wonderful woman who held mediumship circles, and through her, I began to explore different ways of connecting with energy — reading tarot, learning to scry, studying palmistry, and becoming a Reiki practitioner.
Each of these practices taught me something meaningful, but none felt like my true home. They were stepping stones — gentle nudges guiding me toward what would eventually become my greatest passion: Feng Shui.
Around eighteen months ago, I began to experiment with the energy of my home. Bit by bit, I started applying what I could find online — snippets from Google searches, insights from social media, and my own intuition. I didn’t have a grand plan, just a feeling that something needed to change.
The results were pretty much immediate. My space began to feel lighter, calmer, and more supportive. And as my home shifted, so did I. My mindset lifted. My focus returned.
That year turned into one of the most abundant of my life. I went on five dream trips — to Japan, a luxurious hotel in Aix-en-Provence to see a Damien Hirst exhibition, Scotland’s breathtaking NC500, a cruise through the fjords of Norway, and even Glastonbury Festival.
(That last one might not sound glamorous, but those tickets had always alluded me, and going in my VW camper was pure joy!) Each experience felt like a reflection of the new flow I had invited in.
Somewhere along the way, I realised Feng Shui wasn’t just something I was doing — it was transformational and transforming me. I felt much more aligned, balanced and focussed. I knew I wanted to learn properly, to understand the deeper wisdom behind what I was feeling. So I studied professionally, and it quickly became clear that this was my calling.
That’s when Feng Shui Essence was born.
I left my corporate career as a chartered accountant — a role that once gave me confidence but no longer fulfilled me. I needed balance and meaning, and Feng Shui was showing me the way.
Since launching my business, I’ve collaborated with John Lewis, spoken at wellbeing events (something I’d never have imagined doing before), and helped wonderful clients create spaces that truly support their lives.
Looking back, I can see that every step — from reflexology to Reiki — was leading me here. Feng Shui brought everything together.
Who knows where this path will lead next? Perhaps your own transformation begins with your home too. Because when your space supports you, life has a beautiful way of doing the same.
